We had better success regarding color intensity with an avocado dying project a year or so ago. I may try to see if we have any yarn remaining from that dying, so that we can post a picture along side the current yarn. The yarn from that first dying project was very light fast and color fast. We have been delayed with our final dye bath, as we are trying to prepare for getting the sheep sheared. Hopefully we will have some results to post shortly.

I have been looking for any info about avocado stones/peels dyeing - and here you are at last! I'm very glad I found your site. I'm also a bit disappointed that the colours are so light. Have you tested the yarns for light- and washfastness?

The first batch of dying is done; the yarn is dried. We should be ready to do the second dye bath soon. Right now I just need some time for photos and writing. Stay tuned....
